Advancing conservation science to inform management and policy solutions to the diverse challenges facing fresh waters

Projects in the Freshwater Solutions Lab leverage rigorous analytical and statistical techniques and build upon a diversity of ecological, hydrological, climatic, and land-use data sources to advance the following with our partners:

Meeting freshwater protection targets

Informing adaptive management under global change

Mapping freshwater ecological integrity & biodiversity

The Freshwater Solutions Lab aims to advance freshwater conservation with cutting-edge science and decision-support to inform protection, restoration and water-related policy solutions. We recognize that to address the accelerating freshwater biodiversity crisis, innovative conservation approaches, tools and datasets are needed, informed by the best available science and co-developed with our partners. Past and current partnerships span national and regional conservation organizations and advocates as well as federal and state agencies, and we are always keen to explore other collaborations so that we can collectively ensure a sustainable future of thriving freshwater ecosystems.
