Since CSP’s inception, we set out to test what happens when we put creativity and innovation at the core of our conservation mission. The Innovation Lab is not a physical space or fixed group, but sets of mobile, multidisciplinary teams – of CSP staff, partners, and practitioners from within and outside of conservation – often selected and structured around the goals and needs of a given project. Together we explore the core challenges faced in our work, design and deploy prototypes, and conduct experiments at key moments in the inception, development, and transition of projects as well as new initiatives or programs. The Innovation Lab allows CSP to rapidly ratchet up the creativity of our work, while refining processes and products continuously towards each program’s or project’s most essential needs and goals.
