Ganesh Marín, PhD, Postdoctoral Scientist

Ganesh (he/him) is an ecologist and conservationist who interweaves science, exploration, and storytelling in projects to understand and protect wildlife. He earned his PhD in Wildlife Management and Conservation at the University of Arizona where his work focused on the biodiversity, connectivity, and management of wildlife in the US-Mexico borderlands, including the effects of anthropogenic activity and infrastructure in the region. He has collaborated with multinational and transdisciplinary teams working on prairie dogs, rodent communities, hibernating bats, bats in archaeological zones, bears, jaguars, and other projects across the Americas. Ganesh is a National Geographic Explorer, passionate about photography, and an occasional essayist. He lives in Tucson and finds joy in exploring mountains by climbing, biking, or hiking with his dog.
