Sarah McTague, MSc, Scientist
Sarah (she/her) is a spatial ecologist and marine biologist in CSP’s Changing Landscape Lab. She is passionate about understanding anthropogenic impacts on critical ecosystems and conducting science in meaningful ways for conservation purposes. She holds a BSc in Marine Science and Geospatial Science from Stony Brook University and MSc in Biological Oceanography from the University of California San Diego.
Sarah’s past research has focused on the utilization of GIS (geographic information systems) and spatial analyses to understand the distributions and biology of benthic organisms within coral reef environments. She also teaches undergraduate coursework in GIS to help students learn the basics of spatial programming and applications to real-world scenarios.
Outside of work, Sarah loves to be outdoors hiking, running, paddle boarding, or skiing. On a rare day when it rains in her current place of residence, San Diego, CA, she can be found inside reading a good book or working on one of her many unfinished paint-by-numbers.
